Bedia Samanci graduated from medical school in 2009 and became a certified neurology specialist in 2016. She worked as a research fellow at the Athinoula A. Martinos Biomedical Imaging Center, Boston, in 2015-2016. Since 2019, she has been working at the Behavioral Neurology and Movement Disorders Unit, Department of Neurology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University. She is currently a PhD candidate at Maastricht University, School for Mental Health and Neuroscience, where she focuses on neuroimaging in Parkinson’s disease.
She has been a board member of the Turkish Alzheimer Association and the Turkish Neuropsychiatric Society since 2021, and is also a member of the Turkish Parkinson’s Disease Society and the Turkish Neurological Society. Her research centers on neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other movement disorders and dementias. Additionally, she has a strong interest in neuroimaging and biomarkers in these fields.
She has authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles in both international and national journals, as well as contributed to various books.
