Dr. Gulay Kenangil has graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, and completed her mandatory goverment service at Kırklareli State Hospital in the Emergency Clinic. Following that, completed her neurology residency at Neurology Clinic of Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (TRH), where she later advanced to the position of chief assistant. She then achieved her associate professorship in neurology at the same clinic subsequently, became the educational coordinator for the Neurology Clinic at Erenköy TRH , later transitioning to the role of administrative coordinator there. She was a clinical observer in movement disorder unit with Prof. Dr. Kailash Bhatia at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London in 2014. She was appointed as a professor of Neurology in Medical School of Bahçeşehir University in 2017, where she also served as the chair of the neurology department till 2021. She is working at her private clinic since 2021. Now she is a faculty member of neurology, faculty of medicine at Istanbul Medipol University.
Her particular area of research and interest are movement disorders and cognitive neurology and she is giving seminers and talking in courses at many national and international congresses..
She is actively involved in several professional organizations related to neurology and movement disorders. She is a member of the Turkish Neurology Society, where she also participates in the Movement Disorders Study Group and the Quality of Life Study Group in Turkey. Additionally, she is affiliated with the international Parkinson and movement disorder society. She also serves on the board of directors for the Kadıköy branch of the Turkish Alzheimer Association, contributing to initiatives aimed at improving awareness and care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.
