M. Yavuz Samanci graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and completed his neurosurgical residency in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Koç University School of Medicine. His advanced training includes fellowships both in Turkey and abroad, notably at Temple University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and he is currently pursuing a Neuroscience PhD at Maastricht University.
His research focuses on movement disorders, spasticity, pain surgery, psychosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, with over 100 peer-reviewed articles published in international journals. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, Turkish Neuromodulation Society, International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, Deep Brain Stimulation Society, European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, and International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society. Currently, he serves as a board member of the Turkish Neuromodulation Society, a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Neurosurgery Steering Committee, and a member of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies Individual Membership Committee.
